Terms of Use

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER — set to your actual publish date]
Before this goes live: this is a structured starting draft written from an EU consumer-protection standpoint, not a substitute for legal review. The withdrawal-right section (§5) in particular must be reviewed by a lawyer and mirrored correctly in the Stripe checkout flow — the waiver only works if the express consent is collected at checkout, not just stated here.

1. Who we are

BeastConverter (beastconverter.com) is operated by Make Sense ApS, CVR DK34352941, Blangstedaardsvej 1, 5220 Odense, Denmark. Contact: contact@beastconverter.com. Full company details are on the legal notice page.

2. The service

BeastConverter is a browser-based file conversion tool. All conversions run locally in your browser; your files are never uploaded to our servers. The free tier allows up to 3 conversions per rolling 15-minute window, tracked in your browser's local storage. Watching a rewarded advertisement, where offered, restores one conversion.

3. The Beast Pass

The 24-Hour Beast Pass is a paid digital service costing 7 DKK / 1 EUR including VAT, granting unlimited conversions for 24 hours from purchase. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.

Important technical limitations you accept when purchasing:

4. Prices and VAT

All prices shown are final consumer prices including applicable VAT. For customers in the EU, VAT is applied according to the rules of your country of residence where required.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, consumers normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance purchases. The Beast Pass is a digital service that begins immediately upon purchase, at your request.

By purchasing the Beast Pass and ticking the express-consent box at checkout, you (a) request that the service begins immediately, and (b) acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed — that is, once the 24-hour period has elapsed — you lose your right of withdrawal.

If you withdraw during the 24-hour period, we will refund the price proportionate to the unused portion of the pass. To withdraw, contact us at contact@beastconverter.com with your Stripe receipt. No special form is required, though you may use the model withdrawal form in Annex I(B) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

6. Refunds and service failures

Independently of the withdrawal right, EU law (the Digital Content Directive) entitles you to a remedy if the paid service does not work as described — for example, if the pass fails to activate after successful payment. In that case contact us and we will bring the service into conformity or refund you. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use BeastConverter to:

8. Your files and intellectual property

You retain all rights to the files you convert. Because processing happens entirely on your device, we never receive, store, or acquire any rights over your files or their contents. The BeastConverter name, design, and site content are our property and may not be copied without permission.

9. Disclaimer and liability

Conversions are provided with reasonable care but on a best-effort basis. File conversion is a technical process with inherent limitations — for example, complex layouts may not be perfectly preserved, and scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot yield text output. Always keep your original files. We are not liable for loss of data where you have not retained your original file, or for indirect losses arising from conversion inaccuracies, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence, intent, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer in your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update the service and these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Changes do not affect purchases already made.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law. If you are a consumer in another EU/EEA country, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence.

If you have a complaint, contact us first at contact@beastconverter.com — most issues can be fixed quickly. If we cannot resolve it, consumers can bring a complaint to the Danish alternative dispute resolution system: Mæglingsteamet for Forbrugerklager / Forbrugerklagenævnet, Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, naevneneshus.dk, subject to their admissibility rules (including minimum price thresholds — note the Beast Pass price is likely below the current threshold, in which case direct contact with us remains the practical route).

Note: the European Commission's ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) platform was discontinued in July 2025 and is no longer available for new complaints; national ADR bodies such as the one above are the correct route where applicable.
